Steve - H335 is a pretty poor choice to load .45-70 with.

Unique powder was originaly a rifle powder developed for the 30-06 cartridge & is right at home in the 45-70 case. Red dot as well as lots of other pistol powders are listed in manuals in loads for rifles especialy in cast bullet loads. No fillers are called for in these loads straight from the manual: (45-70 safe in even the weakest versions)What powders work good for reduced loads in 45-70? I was afraid just using low charges of slow burning powder would give me lots of velocity swings with it having such a low load density.
